MUHAMMED ATHAVULLAH (SDPI DK District President)
Early Life and Career
Mr. Mohammed Athavullah was born on 7th February, 1970 to parents Abdul Rahman Bava and Zainaba at Jokatte. Having completed his school education at Jokatte Government School and Pejavara High school, Jokatte, he pursued his higher education at Badriya College. After completing his education, he started helping his father in his clothing business and wholesale marketing. After ten years of experience, Mr. Athavullah started a construction company named A.J. constructions and is currently working as the CEO of A.J. constructions. At present, he is residing in Bajpe.
Social concern and contributions
Mr. Mohammed Athavullah is a man of social concern. He always had a desire to work for his nation and help the wounded. He is the former president of the Jokatte primary Old School Association and an executive member of Jokatte Muslim Nagarika Kriya Sammittee. He was working as an active member of Indian Peace Keepers. This was when the Karnataka Forum Dignity (KFD) came into the picture. He was deeply moved by the activities of KFD. Due to his immense hard-work, adaptability, commitment, organization skills,and active involvement, he became the district president of KFD. Later on, KFD merged with two south Indian organizations to form PFI (Popular front of India).
The Popular Front of India ( www.popularfrontindia.org) contradicts existing socio-economic models of development that have failed to alleviate poverty. Since independence, the ruling establishment has empowered oligarchs and capitalists also working hand in hand with Neo-Colonial, Fascist forces. while it ignored the basic needs of the people below. Popular Front of India is a move towards co-ordination and management of efforts for the achievement of socio-economic, cultural and political empowerment of the deprived and the downtrodden and the nation at large. It will try to establish an egalitarian society in which freedom, justice and security are enjoyed by all. The organization has various wings to cater to different sections of society, including the National Women’s Front and the Campus Front of India.
A man of social concern, Athavullah believed that politics was key to serving his community. In the year 2009, he joined the SDPI and is presently working as the DK District President of SDPI. He is also the Indian Red Cross Society’s Life Member and serves on various committees and educational boards in his hometown of Jokatte.
Interests and Associations
Apart from being a hardworking professional, Mr. Mohammed Athavullah takes pleasure in reading, writing, meeting intellectuals and social activities. He believes that practice makes perfect and one should try to develop themselves to be a better person rather than judging others. His dream is to empower the community and put them on the forefront in the coming years.
