BASHEER BAIKAMPADY (BUSINESSMAN, EDITOR, SOCIAL ACTIVIST)
Mr. Basheer Baikampady is an entrepreneur, the editor of the Beary Vartha magazine, social worker and former Deputy Mayor, Mangalore City Corporation.
Early Life and career
Mr. Basheer Baikampady was born on 1st June 1956 to parents Abdul khader and Mammatiamma at Baikampady, Mangalore. Having completed his school education and PUC at Government Higher Primary school, Baikampady, Vidyadayeni High school Surathkal and Shree Jagathguru Chandrashekar Bharati Memorial College Shringeri, he pursued his higher education at St. Aloysius College Mangalore. A man of social concern, he believed that politics is the key to serving his community. To chase his dreams, he went to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and began working in an Arabian Drilling Company. Mr Basheer joined the Congress party as Mandal Panchayat Panambur Member and was elected as the Mandal Pradhan in the Panambur Mandal panchayat.
Under the leadership of S. Bhangarappa in the year 1994, Mr. Basheer stood as a candidate for the MLA elections for the Vittla Karnataka Congress party (KCP). Later on, KCP merged with the Congress party and Mr. Basheer was elected as a co-operator for the Mangalore City corporation in the year 1997. He is also a member of Mangalore co-operation Account Committee and currently works as the chief in the same. In the year 2000, Mr. Basheer was elected as the Deputy Mayor of the Mangalore city Corporation. In the year 2010, Mr. Basheer was elected as the District President of the Bharat Seva Dal and is currently working in the same. In the year 1995, Mr. Basheer started working as an editor in Beary Vartha along with Mr. Rahim Uchil. Mr. Basheer owns a transport office named Mangalore Gujrat Office in Baikampady and a commercial building in Baikampady named Bantwal Chambers.
Social concern and contributions
Mr. Basheer Baikampady is a man of social concern. A member of several social associations, his interest in politics and social work took him a long way in his career and helped establish himself as the noble man that he is today. Mr. Basheer’s dream is to preserve the Beary language, culture and traditions. He is involved in several social organizations. They are listed as follows.

Interests and associations
Apart from being a hardworking professional and politician, Mr. Basheer takes pleasure in writing, poetry and gardening. According to him, the backward community must be given an opportunity and a platform to express their ideas and dreams to develop their skills and to explore and learn new things in life.
