Karnataka, a state renowned worldwide for its technology like IT-BT. Rich in heritage and culture, the scenic spots found in this state are famous around the nation. With different cultures and traditions, yet people live in harmony, Karnataka state is an example for Unity in Diversity.
The total population of this state is 6,70,00,000 people. 17%, that is, approximately 74,00,000 people belong to the Muslim community.
Spread across the various taluks and districts, the Muslims of Karnataka have failed to identify themselves as a progressive society. Due to a lack of infrastructure and facilities, the Muslim community seems to have become a backward community.
In the hundreds of slums, within the concrete jungles, from Bidar to Chamaranagar, majority of residents belong to the Muslim community, dwelling in a pathetic state. The Muslim community today is looking for opportunities to progress.
Taking on this responsibility of uplifting the Muslim community on their capable and resourceful shoulders, a group of like-minded Ulamas, Umaras, youth, and entrepreneurs have collaborated and established a firm called Shaheed CM Abdullah Musliyar Foundation, Karnataka.
Under the reigns of this foundation, great importance has been given to the educational upliftment of minority students and has established in a verdant campus at Kashipattna, a large scale education centre, named, Darunnoor Education Centre.
Kashipattna is located near Moodabidri in Belthangady Taluq. The town of Moodabidri is renowned for quality education with Alva’s Educational Institutions and as a business hub in Dakshina Kannada Dist.
Nestled in between acres of greenery, a sprawling campus with a serene environment, Darunnoor Education Centre in Kashipattna is a plan already set in motion. The foundation stone was laid by Assayyed Panakkad Hyderali Shihab Thangal on 10th February, 2013
An educational institution that is the pride of the Muslim community, Darunnoor Education centre will offer 10 programs that will be implemented in stages.
Under the guidance of the Mangalore Khazi Thwaqa Ahmed Musliyar, renowned ulamas and socially concerned umaras, youth entrepreneurs and philanthropists are carrying out the preparations at Darunnor Education Centre in full swing.
Darunnoor Education Centre hinges on five major pragmatic objectives:
- Providing full-fledged modern education and creating academic excellence in an Islamic environment to create competitors in the contemporary world.
- Exploring hidden talents, giving due recognition and grooming talented youth and providing them an avenue to realize and fulfil their dreams in their respective fields.
- Creating an uprising of dedicated leaders to extend their invaluable service to the nation at large.
- Resolving conflicts between science and religion and creating a generation of Muslim men and women to integrate modern day knowledge with religious values.
- Imbibing a sense of patriotism, national interest and awareness of national law and constitution to build a new generation of youth to carry out their social responsibilities.
Darunnoor Education Centre is established at a verdant campus spanning 12.5 acres which will provide state of the art facilities, modern infrastructure and a healthy ambience for learning. Far-sighted thinking and relentless efforts with the leadership of Ulamas has led Darunnoor to emerge as one of Karnataka’s premier educational institutions.
Darunnoor Education Centre will provide quality education to nearly 5000 deserving students who will pursue their respective professional courses along with strong Islamic values. Affiliated to Darul Huda University, Chemmad, educating students for a long term of 12 years and honoring them with degree of Hudavi is how this institution will function. Students from across Karnataka and other states are given proper accommodation facilities at Darunnoor education centre. Darunnoor’s main goal is to transform young minds into leaders of tomorrow, with ethics and principle, who will garner reputation and recognition, nationally and internationally to represent and change the scenario of the community.
Darunnoor education centre, imparting knowledge for the best of both worlds, will stand as a ray of hope and a means of attaining a purposeful life for many underprivileged students from across the state.
The total project comprises of Darunnoor Islamic Academy, Women’s Sharee’ath College, Hiflul Quran College, Arts & Computer College, English medium School & College, Women’s Teachers Training College & Hostel, Da’wa College, Orphanage, and Destitute Centre.
For the educational upliftment of the minority community, established in this campus, is the attraction that has captured the attention of all. A grand masjid with a capacity of 2000 people, the Jamia Bahrunnoor Masjid was inaugurated on 4th March, 2017 by Assayed Hyder Ali Shihab Thangal.
Taking women empowerment to a new frontier, Darunnoor education centre proposed to establish a Women’s college giving religious and worldly education with the objective of creating a new generation of strong, independent and empowered women, eradicating un-Islamic cultures and strengthening Islamic values and ideals. What sets this college apart is that the entire institution, management, staff, students and security alike, are women.
Darunnoor relies on its support, the numerous Indian entrepreneurs working abroad and well-wishers spread all over Arabia. They convene and strive day and night for the development of this institution.
UAE National Committee, Saudi Arabia and Qatar branches of supporters and well-wishers giving guidance is a huge blessing for Darunnoor.
Darunnoor Education centre currently houses over 120 students receiving quality education, food, accommodation and other facilities, absolutely free of cost.
With 5 acres of land donated by a magnanimous philanthropist and 7.5 acres acquired by Abdullah Musliyar Foundation, the establishment of Darunnoor Education Centre at an estimated cost of Rupees 100 crore in a salubrious environment with modern infrastructure can rightly be called as a historical milestone in the social and educational scenario of the Muslims in Karnataka state.
