From the vast Arabian Sea in all its might, to picturesque sceneries amidst nature. Nestled in between, shining like a crown, is the DKSC religious and educational institution.

If asked, what has been achieved over the last 20 years, the answer would be the numerous activities taking place in the vast Sunni Centre campus along with the closely located Al-Ihsan Educational institution.

DKSC is a reputed Sunni Centre of the Muslim Community. It is a higher academic, social service organization in Dakshina Karnataka which remains as a noteworthy achievement brought up by the sacrifices and efforts of the working class in the sand dunes of Saudi Arabia. By the efforts of the institution it has established and organized diligent, self-less service, initiated with a good intention that has given prospects for thousands of children & a lively foundation for hundreds of families.

Indignantly following initiative, thousands of helping hands at heart and the blessings of the Almighty, what started off as a small project with 12 children and just one acre of land has evolved today as a guiding light to thousands of students

HISTORY:

Back in 1995, on the 13th of October, a group of like-minded individuals convened together with a motive of doing something beneficial to the Muslim community. Then emerged DKSC at the sacred birthplace of Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W) where they built a committee for the welfare of the poor & orphans at Al-Khobar, Saudi Arabia.

In the beginning, under the leadership of religious leader Al – Haji Hasanul Faizi, DKSC has formed a task project.  Back then, it was DKSC’s intention to give education to the poor and orphans, women, for their upliftment and on an aspiration to reach out to the underprivileged. Today, by its achievement, it has crossed two decades, serving with pride and creating representatives of the Muslim community.

As proclaimed in the Quran, selfless service will give fruitful result. In 1997, a generous donor contributed 60 cents of land by the national highway at Muloor for this initiative. More than hundres of dreams were fulfilled by this one act of kindness as a conservation centre was set up for orphans and homeless children. What began with a handful of children has grown today into a vast expanse due to the relentless efforts of the members of DKSC.

During this time, DKSC was led by Kumbol Atakoya Thangal, a prominent literary figure of South India and the leader of Ahl Sunnath wal Jamaath, who gave the association the mental fortitude needed to serve the community.

DKSC remains grateful to all its donors, spread across all over the Middle East, at crucial points, who have contributed significantly from their incomes collected. The organization also conducted and organized numerous events, get-togethers, Eid programs in the Middle East and spread their works which garnered a lot of support from well-wishers in not just India, but abroad too.

In the year 1997, visualizing a need for English advancement along with proficiency in Kannada, English as a medium of instruction was introduced in the academy by introducing a new branch named Al – Ihsan English Medium School.

Al Ihsan had a humble beginning with just 40 LKG students but expanded over time, and in2006, DKSC owned four acres of land, along with its own, Al – Ihsan educational institutions. Alhamdulillah, by the immense grace of the almighty, ranging from LKG to PUC for women, Al – Ihsan’s oculars oversee students of a number of classes, serving as a knowledge centre for the youth of our community.

In a time where a vast majority of the Muslim community is moving towards educating their daughters, there still is fear and anxiety in the hearts of many. Al-Ihsan as an institution is outstanding in this regard, for here we promise a sense of safety and security of our students, and the testimonials of parents speak to the assurance and quality we deliver.

In towns and cities, a lot of youngsters fall prey to modern lifestyles and are values are lost on them. To counter this, Al-Ihsan Residential School provides complete hope to parents as its watchful eyes span an expansive campus, instilling in students the fear of Almighty Allah and value-based education ranging across top courses in an invigorating environment which students of different districts avail.

For the past 3 years, Al-Ihsan has maintained high standards of SSLC results and stands as a model for the entire state. It also boasts of a best outgoing PU batch on the premise of moral values and obtaining Allah’s satisfaction. Thousands of students after completing their studies have engaged themselves in various fields ranging from entrepreneurship to religious services.

Allah enunciates that is man’s first priority in life to adapt the order and policy of the Almighty in their personality and an ideal civilization is only built on the Islamic life style. In order to become prominent in the society, like the prophets and his companions or other protectors of the faith, one has to have a strong Islamic foundation. In this world of science and technology, man has walked on the moon. In the same world of science and technology, a Muslim has to earn and achieve for his hereafter too. With this motto, DKSC is guiding, instructing and training scores of has developed to develop their personality to a higher level and the students follow a desirable daily routine from sunrise to sunset.

In the expansive campus of Sunni Centre there the Al-Ihsaan grand masjid. The Qazi of Udupi district, Bekal usthad is the principal of AL-Ihsan Shareeyath College, Al-Ihsan Edu-Planet, Al-Ihsan Hifzul Quran College, Al-Ihsan Madrasa, Al-Ihsan Guidance Bureau, Al-Ihsan tuition classes, Al-Ihsan Daaruln Masaakeen and Al-Ihsan Residential School. All the administrative affairs of Sunni Centre take place in this campus.

For the purpose of imparting higher religious education, the faculty is extremely well-versed in Arabic, English and Kannada along with which, top-notch, worldly education with scientific knowledge is given, to create a new genre of Alims. Students at Al-Ihsan are given extensive training in the study of the Quran, Hadees, Islamic history and literature, as a result, students are capable of translating the Quran and interpreting it in multiple languages, at a very early age.

The Muslim community has been subjected to several problems due to the imbalance in importance given to religious and formal education. This could pose a severe problem and contribute to worsening of the Muslim scenario in the region. Acting with foresight, DKSC has already carried out its solutions under the name “Al-Ihsan educational institutions”

The insightful students know the overview of the condition of our community and also contribute to the welfare of the community in every way they can.

In a beautiful hostel that promotes good behaviour, with clean and modern infrastructure, children are also offered nutritious food on time, and the institution ensures that they undergo no hassles in their accommodation.

Students are also provided with top level of education. Orphans and children from economically backward families are bestowed with the free facilities. Recognizing the talented students and encouraging them has been one of DKSC’s noble actions.

The students have taken action in scaling moral etiquette, discipline, patience and values of life. The students are also encouraged by the management with the saying “facility is ours, effort is yours”

Students from our institution have also participated in state and district level sporting events and showcased their talents at various platforms where they have won many laurels. Al-Ihsan uniquely promotes talent and felicitates deserving students. To invoke discipline, self-control and increase physical strength, classes for karate are also given.

Al–Ihsan has gained special importance in the society and garnered the respect of luminaries like various officers, heads of state, ministers and the Chief Minister himself by striving for perfection in the activities of our institution.

Though the guidance of Atakoya Kumbol Thangal, a respected mentor and leader of our organisation, several social activities are taking place. Free medical camp, free ambulance service, Ifthar meetings, Milad conventions are also being organised where talented persons are awarded and great scholars who give their service in the religious community are also honoured along with felicitation to social workers.

For business opportunities to the poor and marriages of orphan girls, DKSC is offering assistance with open arms. Mass Marriages in the community give the fortune of wedlock while loans to assistance open new prospects to many unemployed youth. DKSC periodically releases and publishes many works through its Sunni Guidance Bureau and has stepped into the literary world.

Alhamdulillah, after the success of the the PU college, DKSC has given the prospect of Women’s Education some serious thought. DKSC has now planned to set up a Women’s degree college, offering a Bachelor in Arts, at an expected cost of Rupees Eight Crores. Due to the relentless perseverance and the day and night strife and sacrifice of the DKSC members and magnanimous donors, the beautifully designed, with advanced amenities, the Al-Ihsan women’s college has stood up in the contemporary world, providing education for the best of both worlds through the Aalima course. A proposed large scale Islamic library and research centre, Boys PU college and a women’’s college at Uppinangady for which land has already been purchased are some of the many projects envisioned and implemented by DKSC to uplift the Muslim community on a social, economic, educational and religious level.

May Almighty Allah accept the noble deeds and gestures of our donors, Saadaths, Aalims who have guided our organization to reach greater heights. May Almighty Allah bestow upon us strength, will & health to further our duties to both Allah and his creations to an utmost extent. Ameen.
