Hidayah Foundation
Hidayah Foundation is a charitable non-profit organization that was established in the year 2007 by a group of Mangalorean women. What began as an effort to help the less fortunate in the community then grew exponentially after their male counterparts realized the magnitude of the work required in the area of charity.
The road that lead to this organization has been carefully paved by the dedication, hard work and good intentions of the members associated with Hidayah foundation.
After assessing the areas that required attention, Hidayah Foundation has dedicated its time, wealth and energy to systematically engage with the scores of families living in the large Dakshina kannada district and its outskirts to reach the most deserving of people who require the ummah’s help.
FOOD
After surveying and assessing the living conditions of poor families in the rural vicinity. Hidayah Foundation found scores of families that have no means of earning their daily bread. To tackle the issue of hunger, Hidayah has been distributing food aid through monthly rations to 300 deserving families
HEALTH
After malnutrition, the second most prevalent problem among poor communities is the rising number of health ailments due to poor hygiene, non-availability of proper medical resources. Hidayah has been helping the rural community by conducting regular health screening camps and awareness camps. Financial aid to the most deserving cases are also provided in terms of paying hospital bills and medicine expenses.
EDUCATION
In lieu with the ‘Learn and Teach’ initiative taken by Hidayah in 2009, an institute to train Arabic teachers was initiated through the establishment of Hidayah Arabic Teachers Training Institute. Scholarships and financial aid to the most deserving students is also provided along with regular career guidance and parent counselling programs.
SELF RELIANCE
To promote financial independence among the residents of Hidayah Share and Care Colony, tailoring workshops were conducted with complete access to sewing machines and workspace. Hidayah has also delved into the field of Agriculture by initiating plantation growth which has yielded good produce this year.
INFRASTRUCTURE
Hidayah Foundation has housed 39 families in the Hidayah Share and Care Colony. An added facility of a community Development Center which was under construction has been successfully completed. The two-storied structure has a tailoring workshop in the bottom floor and a fully functional residential special needs center for children with special needs.
HIDAYAH EPICENTER
Hidayah women’s Epicenter is a mega project undertaken by charity organization, Hidayah Foundation, in a bid to provide women in the urban and rural setting with accessible opportunities, to seek holistic development through various programs under one roof.
