Thoughts
“There are several good things in our community but they are not highlighted and go unnoticed due to various factors. Hence, people degrade their own community. For example, if we say a child is bad at studies and keep reminding him that he is bad at studies, he will forever stay bad at studies due to his subconscious mind taking in those words. His mind will decide that he is meant to be bad in studies. This is a natural and common process. It’s the belief that decides the outcome. This is exactly what is happening to our community. The more we say it’s bad, the more it turns out to be bad. People should support the idea of optimism and strive to spread goodness. One of the major drawbacks of our community is that we lack quality professionals. We do have education, skilled professionals such a doctors, engineers and advocates but are not up to the mark. Same goes with politicians and religious scholars or speakers. Our community lacks quality. For example, our Prophet Muhammed (pbuh) once said that swimming is an act of Sunnah. But do we have any one in our community who won a gold medal for swimming? No. this is the reality. We lack quality. We lack vision. Most of the children of our community lack vision. Hence there are no quality results. As a solution, we should conduct human resource development programs. All the organizations should be a part of this program. Our community lacks a ‘think tank’ system. We are in need of a centralized system which will help the people to connect and share their views and ideas. Another important goal is to implement the Zakath system in the right Islamic way. By doing so, the needy people who receive the zakath will never have to ask for zakath again. That is the true purpose and meaning of Zakath which is still being implemented in a wrong way in the society. The poor remain to be poor even after receiving help from the rich. Our community is indeed talented in every field. All we need to do is to make the best use out of it. Grow and help others grow. This will improve the community and its people. We should always establish a healthy and strong relationship with other communities. The relationship should be in such a way that the other party won’t be able to break even if they want to. This will result in a peaceful society without any hatred or conflicts.” – Thoughts expressed by Mr. Mohammed Kunhi.
