Never assume that being a girl is good for nothing, rather believe in the power & strength within you. Islam never dictates that a girl shouldn’t work or study, it only asks to cover oneself with modesty. Let’s take Aysha (Ra) for instance, she is one of the most wisest women in the world.
Here is a story of a girl from the coastal Muslim community, NASIRA BANU from Karkala, elected as a woman civil judge.
2 decades ago it was said by our ancestors that girls are not allowed to go out or study more. But why???? Allah never said that, let’s change that thought and get inspired by NASIRA BANU
A talented, rural girl, NASIRA BANU lives in a village called Bajagoli in Karkala,
She is the daughter of Nebisa and Aliyabba, working as a school van driver. It was their desire for her to reach heights, and her achievement overwhelmed her parents with joy, and her desire grew very strong as she reached her goal
The path of NASIRA BANU’s journey was not rosy but full of difficulties. It surprised everyone that a timid, village girl is learning law, for being a Muslim girl dreaming big is not that easy.
NASIRA BANU completed her PU Education in the Arts Department in her home town and later graduated from Vaikunta Baliga law college Udupi. One of Karkala’s finest lawyers Advocate K . Verendra Kumar took her as an apprentice and she is now practicing with Advocate G. Muralidhar Bhatt. NASIRA BANU says that the training she has received from the past eight years has indeed been phenomenal.
A total of 2074 candidates appeared for the first phase of the civil judge examination followed by a secondary test where she was eventually identified as one of 52 people who were called for the interview.
Behind the success of every educated & empowered woman, stand her parents who placed full faith in her in spite of what society had to say.
NASIRA BANU is aware of the path she has taken and also knows she has a long way to go. She’s the result of the education revolution among Muslims over the past two decades. She is also an inspiration for women of the community and nation at large.
IN SHA ALLAH, may all her dreams be fulfilled. We wish her all the very best in all her future endeavors.
