We have done many years of Research for the Develop of this web site which is a mirror of Beary’s social status and services, bringing together the global Bearys under one roof and developing Network and also communicating with each other.

Hanif Puttur is regarded as the pioneer of video journalism within the Beary community. He commenced his career with New Mangalore Channel (NMC) as a TV news reporter in 1998 and swiftly rose to the roles of Video Editor and Videographer by 1999. Noticing the dearth of Kannada news channels apart from Udaya TV; NMC, under the leadership of Rohit Raj, gained immense popularity as a local channel in Mangalore. Their news segment aired daily at 7:30 PM on the Wizard graphics Network, with Manohar Prasad as the news anchor for City Cable TV News.

In 1998, Hanif Puttur’s joined New Mangalore News Channel on facilitation by Journalist Ismail Moodushede, and by the encouragement of Rahim Uchil, a newsreader at New Mangalore Channel.

He served as the inaugural Editor of Beary Vaarthe, a monthly publication, under the leadership of publisher Basheer Baikampady, the former deputy mayor of the Mangalore Municipal Corporation.

Uchil’s impact extends beyond print media; he pioneered Beary news on television as its first newsreader in 1999. His role as a television journalist not only marked a milestone for the community but also laid the foundation for Beary news coverage on the small screen.

In addition to his journalistic endeavors, Uchil is celebrated as a two-time president of the Karnataka Beary Academy. During his tenure, he curated and published the “125 Beary Great Achievements” memory book, commemorating notable achievements within the Beary community.
